Is travel insurance required to travel to Argentina?

"...it is essential to require that foreigners entering national territory declare that they have health insurance to cover their medical expenses in the country, which will contribute to the proper implementation of the measure and ensure greater efficiency in the delivery of health services."

This new requirement applies to foreign tourists, temporary workers, and migrants, and it will be enforced upon entry to the country—whether by airports, ports, or land border crossings.

This means that not only tourists, but also those who plan to settle or stay for an extended period, must have medical insurance from the moment they enter.

If travelers do not have coverage, they will need to cover the costs of medical care at public hospitals themselves. This measure aims to preserve the sustainability of the Argentine healthcare system and ensure fair access to health services.
